Responsible for preparing the most economical transformer and auto-booster designs in accordance with customer specifications and appropriate standards. Timely issue of designs, preparation of test procedures and approval of customer drawings, test reports and technical specifications. Produce contract review reports using statistical analysis. Provide improvements and solutions to problems in product manufacturing, repair, drafting, shop equipment, and procedures. Develop manufacturing standards. Implement upgrade of ISO-9001:2000 for electrical engineering department. Discuss with sales and customers technical problems involving products. Initiation, preparation and implementation of research and development projects. Development of transformer and related engineering design, short circuit analysis, and magnetic field analysis programs. Seek new product ideas in conjunction with sales. Assist in the development of new procedures, methods, and selections of new materials. Assist in making application for R&D funding or tax credits. Assist in the selection of suppliers and materials. Prepare company's technical literature such as product briefs, magazine articles, news releases, etc.

Regional Systems Engineer        TransCanada Pipelines

I lead the regional application and hardware support for Windows NT&98, Novel, Unix Email and Mac. I administered network, server and telecomm issues, monitored problem resolution and organized training. I managed many small and medium projects concurrently such as regional IT budgeting, forecasting future needs, overlooking computer donations, scheduling tasks and projects in the region according to priorities and business impact. I managed the Mac-to-Intel migration of many hundred’s of computers, printers, etc. in the region. I overlooked the regional network upgrades. I harmonized the Foothills Pipe Lines’ IT and network structure and equipment with that of TransCanada. I ensured business systems were Y2K ready, and risk was mitigated through compliance with corporate direction, and identification and resolution of potential technical problems. I contributed to corporate cost management objectives and direction to rationalize regional IT assets, products and services within my regional budget and resources.

Networks Support Specialist             Alcatel Networks

I provided the highest level of TDM and ATM technical support for Alcatel’s customers in Canada and Latin America Region. Using Alcatel’s 3600/3645 MainStreet Bandwidth Manager, 46020 Advanced Network Manager, GUI, NMTI, and Lab Data Test Devices, I simulated customer network problems in the Alcatel's Advanced Telecommunications Lab. I set up and configured networks using small and large multiplexers (i.e. 3612 MainStreet Narrowband Mux), bridges and frame relay and X.25 packet switching cards to set up T1, E1, V.35, X.21 network links for voice and data.

Applications Developer       Human Resources Development Canada (HRDC)

I coded Perl based cgi-scripting in X-Windows powered by Linux. One of my main projects was "Meta tags Checker and Injector". Interfaced through the intranet with password restriction, users were able to view their web pages and page Meta entries (via checker), fill in a form to enter Meta tags and then inject them (via injector) to the respective HTML files. I also made file security daemons to check for integrity of server files from unauthorized tampering. My last project was a Username Database Manager to create and manage usernames and passwords for Linux accounts. It offered options such as deletion, creation, print, save, load, etc. of the database entries.

I designed and maintained the Sask. Post Secondary Education’s web site at http://www.sasked.gov.sk.ca/. I also developed cgi-script applications and databases in C.
